An automobile accident in New York has claimed the life of one woman and left a child with injuries. This fatal car accident reportedly occurred in the Borough of Queens in mid-July. The driver believed responsible for the crash has been arrested and is facing various criminal charges.
A 40-year-old woman was driving her vehicle in South Ozone Park, when the driver of another car sped through a stop sign and slammed into her automobile. It is unknown whether the victim died at the scene or if she received any medical care before her death. The victim’s daughter — a 9-year-old — was in the car with her and suffered unspecified injuries. According to the latest report, she is still recovering.
The driver believed responsible for this wreck is a 58-year-old male. He was been charged with manslaughter, assault, driving without a license and failing to remain at the accident scene — among other charges. It is unknown if court dates have been set regarding this matter.
This fatal car accident, as they all do, has absolutely devastated the victim’s family. There is simply no easy way to cope and move forward when a loved one’s life is so unexpectedly and senselessly taken. In this case, a husband has been left without his wife and his children without their mother, which will not only cause emotionally difficulties for this family, but it may have serious financial consequences as well. According to the laws of New York, wrongful death and personal injury claims may be filed against the man deemed responsible for this wreck. By taking such actions, compensation may be awarded if the claims are successfully litigated.
