Police in New York are investigating a crash in the Queens area that left six people injured and claimed the life of one young woman. This car accident is said to have occurred in the early morning hours of Sunday, Sept. 11. So far, one of the drivers involved is facing charges for the incident.
According to reports, two vehicles collided at an intersection after one of the cars, and Audi sedan, blew through a stop sign. The T-bone crash caused the sedan to flip on its top before hitting a wall and coming to a stop. A total of seven people were in the five-passenger Audi at the time of the crash, one of them a 23-year-old woman who was not wearing a seat belt. This individual died as a result of the injuries she suffered in the wreck. The remaining occupants all suffered unspecified injuries.
The driver of the other car, a 53-year-old female, was arrested following the incident. She has been charged with operating a vehicle without a license. It was not reported if she suffered any injuries in the wreck. Police have also not indicated if any charges are pending against the driver of the Audi.
A night of fun, celebrating a birthday, ended in tragedy for one woman’s friends and family. When a car accident results in injury and/or fatality, the surviving victims and the family members of the deceased may have legal recourse. Personal injury, wrongful death and any other applicable civil claims may be filed against the driver who is believed responsible for this collision. With the establishment of negligence, a New York court may grant monetary judgments for those claims that are successfully litigated.
