A recent car crash in New York is believed to have been caused by an impaired driver. This car accident occurred March 23, in Lenox. Three people were injured, one of whom is the driver believed responsible for this wreck.
According to a local news outlet, at approximately 9 p.m., a 35-year-old male was driving his vehicle on Route 31 when he ran a red light and struck another car. The driver of the impacted vehicle suffered head injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment. This individual’s current condition is unknown. The driver deemed responsible for this collision, along with a passenger in his car were both hurt and also transported to a medical facility for care.
After being released from the hospital, the party believed responsible was arrested. As this individual tested positive for drugs, and drug paraphernalia was found in his vehicle, he is facing a DWAI charge as well as various others. As of the latest report, he is being detained at a county jail pending a court hearing.
The passenger and other driver who were injured as a result of this man’s actions may, according to the state of New York, have legal recourse. With the assistance of legal counsel, each of these individuals may file personal injury claims in an effort to seek compensation for financial losses. In order to do this, negligence will have to be established against the party deemed responsible for the car accident. If that can be accomplished to the satisfaction of the court, full and fair compensation may be awarded.
