Police in New York are investigating a crash that claimed the life of a 3-year-old girl. This fatal car accident occurred in Uniondale on Sunday, July 9. The injured victims and the loved one’s of the deceased may be entitled to pursue a claim for damages for their losses.
According to a local news station, the driver of an SUV collided with another SUV while attempting to change lanes. The impact sent the second vehicle off the road and into a tree. A young girl in that vehicle suffered critical injuries and was transported to a medical facility where she died. The driver of the impacted car — a 66-year-old male — is said to have suffered neck and back injuries and another passenger in his automobile — a 28-year-old female — experienced fractures in her legs.
The driver responsible for the crash was uninjured in the wreck. The events that led up to the collision are still being reviewed. At this time, it is unknown if any charges are pending against this individual.
The agony a losing a child, no matter how it happens, can seem unbearable. While there is nothing that can replace the life of this young soul, her family may pursue compensation in a New York civil court. If awarded, this could help them handle the numerous unexpected expenses they are likely experiencing so that they can focus on grieving rather than any financial difficulties. The injured victims may also seek relief by filing personal injury claims against the driver thought responsible for this fatal car accident.
